I know this may seem an unusual title but this is one of my projects at present, moving the majority of my collection to tarnish resistant silver.
I also have an offer on my website at present for a free extra crystal bowl with the butter dish, preserve jar and caviar set.
Silver is an extremely resilient product and it is usually the crystal that suffers in an accidental knock or drop.
It may be worth adding here that a replacement crystal service is available for all JA Campbell products.
However to resume on the cocktail theme, this can be an exiting and novel way to greet guests when arriving for dinner. It can be a ‘piece of theatre’ and break the ice at the start of the evening.
If you already have a good repertoire of cocktails then all you need is my sterling silver cocktail shaker and perhaps the ice bucket and bar set from the ‘Appetite’ collection to complete your setting. Using my cocktail shaker to mix your cocktails will be a delight and bring comments of admiration from your guests.
Please take a moment to look on my website www.jacampbell.co.uk to appreciate the design of this piece.
I have included a couple of very simple cocktail recipes below, but would welcome any of your favourite recipes to try myself.
approx 30 raspberries, to garnish Method
1. Muddle ten fresh raspberries in a glass. Add half a measure of the sugar syrup.
2. Pour this mixture into the cocktail shaker and then add to it a double measure of vodka and a half measure of chambord.
3. Shake this mixture together in the shaker over crushed ice, then pour into a glass.
4. Garnish with two raspberries on a cocktail stick. GRAPEFRUIT DAIQUIRI (non-alcoholic) 22 1/2ml Fresh Lime Juice
30ml Simple Syrup
60ml Grapefruit Juice
2 dashes Angostura Bitters* Add all the ingredients into a Cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.* note – The Bitters do contain alcohol but like using vanilla extract in a cooking recipe, the measure is negligeable.
1 part vodka
2 teaspoons galliano
4 parts orange juice
6 ice cubes
1 orange slice
Put half the ice cubes, the vodka and orange juice into a cocktail shaker. Shake well then strain into a tall glass over the remaining ice. Float the galliano over the top. Decorate with orange slices.
